#297 Sitelink and Call Centers..yes you read that right

Posted by spatten on 27 October 2004 - 12:09 PM in General Sitelink Discussion

I was wondering if anyone has used Sitelink to create an "order entry" process with Sitelink?

We have an "off site" call center that currently takes orders for us and we want to provide them a "direct link" to our database and our inventory status.

So we are in the process of creating this interface.

If you have created something like this for yourself or if you know someone who has, let me know.

We currently have a couple of RFP's out and have gotten Dydacomp's proposal back.

Before we made our final decision, I thought I would "shout out" and see if anyone had some feedback.

#270 Sending E-Mails

You can "batch" all of those emails from one workstation.

Even though it is enabled at each workstation.

Just make sure that the "non-Outlook" workstations DO NOT click on "SEND ON SAVE".

MOM takes all of the emails and send them to BATCH PROCESSING. (STAGE SIX). This way...you can then run STAGE SIX BATCH from the one workstation that has internet access.

This way...each station can "send" a customer notice to a client..but it will not require them to be connected to the Internet or have Outlook installed on their machine.

Hope this helps.

#256 Postcards and MOM

Okay...I admit it upfront..we are cheap.

When we get a backordered item (and we have a few of them). Instead of sending out a BO letter...we would rather save a few bucks and send out postcard.

MOM doesn't look like it can print a 4-up postcard (even though I can create it it MSWord). MOM isn't able to populate the four different customer information on a single page.

Yes, I can print labels for postcards. But I wanted to be able to put the items backordered on the card as well.

So I'm left with "exporting" the data out of MOM and into probably a spreadsheet then importing it into Word.

I'm looking for any advice..suggestions..comments...or brand new spanking ideas, that I haven't thought of.

Freely admitting...I'm not that bright.

#255 Emailing and MOM

Hopefully a simple question.

We have several workstations. Some of the WindowsXP with OutlookXP and Outlook Express. We have some stations with WIN98 and Outlook2000. Currently only one of our workstations can send email. It has the 98/Outlook200 config. (Other machines do as well..but only one can send)

I am trying to get each station to be able to email customer notices. However, we get an error message "Your system is not setup to use Internet Email".

MOM Tech Support is equally as baffled. I spent almost an hour with them yesterday going over various scenarios. There only suggestion is to reinstall the software...which I'm willing to do.

But before that...I was wondering if I was the only with this problem?

If you are emailing Notices...what is your config?
If you have had the problem...how did you solve it?

Any advice you can give us..would be greatly appreciated.

In advance...thankz.
