#2395 MOM a Nightmare

Posted by malaize on 05 February 2009 - 08:45 AM in General Mail Order Manager Discussion

#2 Make the on hold music your favorite song. - You will know all the words to all the songs because of the long wait time. Hey Dilahla sound familiar ?

Rofl about the Hey Dilahla song. So true.

Email response time from support is extremely delayed or nonexistant unless I email them back after 1-2 weeks saying that I didn't receive a response. Not good.

#2040 NCOA processing providers

Posted by malaize on 12 March 2008 - 12:31 PM in Email Issues & List Management

Hi zelik,

Perhaps I am confused. Have you looked at www.lortondata.com? I was not aware of any other companies that would process an NCOA list. We have used Lorton Data successfully for years.

#2039 Endicia/galaxy ship and MOM

Ya, I also had to go into each UPS method and make sure to uncheck it so it was not used in the USI module.

#2038 Please HELP!!!!! GLDONE ERROR!

Posted by malaize on 12 March 2008 - 10:45 AM in Known Bugs, Work Arounds, and Fixes

there are other files needed as well... such as the help files (don't ask me why)... MOM Helpers has a little utility that has all the needed files

You are correct. The Foxtools.zip file actually contains the following files.

dbuwin
foxtools.fll
Genricpd.app
momhelp

And I still have a copy of it if anyone ever needs it. Sometimes I don't check my private messages on this site, so it is best to request this file by emailing me at [email protected]

#2037 MOM 6.0 Upgrade

Posted by malaize on 12 March 2008 - 10:42 AM in Known Bugs, Work Arounds, and Fixes

Dydacomp just recently offered my company a deal on 6.1. What kind of issues have you had? And how much time does it take to perform the upgrade?

The upgrade does not take that long. (depends on the size of your MOM data) Between giving yourself time to create backups beforehand, running the upgrade, and then installing any updated once the upgrade is complete I would give yourself a 2 hour window.

#2036 MOM 6.0 Upgrade

Posted by malaize on 12 March 2008 - 10:41 AM in Known Bugs, Work Arounds, and Fixes

We purchased the 6.0 upgrade a year ago December and still have been unable to install it due to all the bugs remaining. Has anyone been able to install the upgrade and successfully use 6.0?

We are really disappointed that Dydacomp released this program when it was so faulty.

We upgraded to 6 in January 2007 but had to "downgrade" back to 5.4 the next day because of several speed related issues. (took over 3minutes just to process orders)
I have kept an eye on the Dydacomp user forum since then and there are still a lot of users of 6 that are having problems. However, there are a lot of users on 6 that have no problems. From what I have seen there is not a pattern with the speed and the hardware that MOM is running on. Some users are using Windows 2003server with 3-4GB of RAM and Xeon processors with a small company and have issues while other users with much slower systems and larger companies run 6 with no problems. In our case we have an HP Proliant with 2GB of RAM and a 3.4 Xeon processor with SCSI drives. We have the multi company module with 3 companies that arent incredibly huge.

Perhaps we will upgrade late this summer or in the fall.

#2034 Shipping Charges

Posted by malaize on 12 March 2008 - 10:07 AM in Shipping Issues & Calculation

Did you ever find a work around for this problem? It's 2 years later and we're still doing it the same way. :)

Hi workuseonly04,

Sorry I didn't see your response months ago. lol We are still operating the exact same way in regards to how the table based shipping and exact shipping charges work. Unfortunately when a large item is ordered along with the smaller items that use the table based shipping, the larger item's price is still counting towards the basket total and then the shipping charge.

cheers,

#2033 Galaxy Ship for USPS is great so far

Posted by malaize on 12 March 2008 - 10:04 AM in Shipping Issues & Calculation

Will it work without the USI module

Hi ypf1258,

Sorry everyone that I overlooked your questions. You must use the USI module in order for Galaxy Ship to work.

cheers,

#2032 Galaxy Ship for USPS is great so far

Posted by malaize on 12 March 2008 - 10:03 AM in Shipping Issues & Calculation

Hey that sounds great where do I get these programs, and how d I install them

Hi risnay, You can get Galaxy Ship and Dazzle at www.endicia.com Endicia is Internet postage and Dazzle is their label making software. In order to "connect" Dazzle with MOM you will also need the Galaxy Ship program. GS allows you to import your MOM USPS orders so you can quickly print out your shipping labels. Dydacomp has full docs on how to set up Galaxy Ship with MOM.

FYI, We were using software called Postal Package Partner for shipping domestic USPS and it was much more complicated to set up and cost more. We have been extremely happy with Endicia/Dazzle/Galaxy Ship for about 2 years now. It's also very easy to get a postage refund on a package if you made an error.

#2031 Tracking postal orders in MOM 5.4

Posted by malaize on 12 March 2008 - 09:58 AM in General Mail Order Manager Discussion

Malaize - I have found that in order to make the "Track Package" button active for USPS orders, you need to go into Global Parameters -> Shipping -> USPS. Once there, check the box that says USPS Electronic Delivery Confirmation, save it, and it should now work. Sometimes MOM is a little weird (when isn't it, really) and the button will still be grayed out. When this happens, if I click on View/Edit Box, then click save, when I come out the "Track Package" button will now be available.

Hi CDI Fulfillment,

I'm a bit late on this response. :) The "Track Package" button now works for most of the USPS orders. Sometimes it will be grayed out but if you change to a different tab and then come back to the Shipping tab it will work. Definitely quirky, but at least it works most of the time.

cheers,
