I'd be really interested to know if anyone has made any progress with an integration between MOM and aspdotnetstorefront - does anyone have recent news, please?

Jo,

We identified ASPdotNET Storefront as a possible candidate for replacing MOM and Sitelink altogether. If you go with the Enterprise version, which is $1200 I think, it has quite a bit of capability. Plus, it is software that can be tinkered with to fit your needs, unlike MOM.

Hello,

I noticed this older post and thought I would introduce myself and offer some guidance.

I work in support at Dydacomp and have responded to a few postings including one specifically about this post in our forum for supported MOM customers. forum.dydacomp.com
If you were to login and register on our site, you would be albe to see the full string of information but in summary, PCI compliancy is the responsibility of you as a merchant. If you're on the most current version of the MOM software then you're given some of the tools necessary to become compliant.
Wee have added peices like Visa certified encryption and user security profiles to enable Customer service reps to only see the last 4 digits of the credit card number.

If you're interested in hearing more, please try looking in our user forum for more information. Thank you.

Mike, although this is the standard Dydacomp answer to this issue, it is pure crap. MOM software stores CC data in an encrypted format but shows it to all users in payment screen. If you try to turn that feature off the cards are not available for use at all. A Dydacomp exec's response to us on this issue was "oops, we're working on it. If more customers have this same issue, it'll attain a higher priority" THIS IS A DYDACOMP SOFTWARE ISSUE AND THUS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE VENDOR, NOT THE MERCHANT! Furthermore, the export feature, which is advertised as a function that allows you to "export orders previously entered in MOM to an external fulfillment house." While this is a valuable feature, what Dydacomp fails to mention is that the export file contains unencrypted credit card information and thus makes any company using it (even internally, not to mention when sending it to a third party fulfillment house) PCI UN-COMPLIANT! If MasterCard and Visa knew about this, no doubt they would automatically investigate any and all merchants using MOM. This is on Dydacomp, not the unwitting customers that bought your product thinking that it was a solid piece of business software.

i just registered here to vent my frustrations too. Dydacomp is just about useless. If the sales department can't get back to you in timely manner, what do you think the tech support is like? We have been with MOM since v4.0 and it is the biggest joke i have ever seen. Pay the money for a custom program and forget this joke of a company.

I'm glad to finally see a forum where people are telling the truth and not trying to suck up to Dydacomp. I managed to get scolded, threatened and then finally kicked off Dydacomp's forum when I posted some burning questions about the shortcomings of the products, services and company altogether. PEOPLE, STOP SENDING MONEY TO DYDACOMP. Take the time to look at your alternatives. We're investing a lot of time, money and energy in developing an alternative to MOM, but this time, money and energy will eventually keep going to Dydacomp if we don't get out while we can...so it's a good move. Invest with a company that cares about making a quality product instead of trying to sell the faulty ones that it developed 10 years ago. As a final note, Dydacomp VP Steven Miller is a jerkoff and is nothing more than a salesman turned executive. If you have that kind of leadership, the company is bound to go nowhere.

We are considering using MOM 5.0 for our order management software. Using coupons, cross-selling, upselling and continuity is vital to our business. Also the ability to claim multiple coupons and catalog specials are quite common.

Does anyone have any feedback from their experience?

Don't do it. MOM is hell on Earth.

Bryan, we installed MOM the first week that I started working for this company. My title is Director of Finance, however, my job duties are pretty much, "Full-Time MOM fixer". I have never been more frustrated with a piece of software or the company that made it. The software does an okay job, but the bugs that are present (and that are not being fixed by Dydacomp) are critical. For example, we export an XML file to our Distribution Center so that they can pack out the orders. That file contains unencrypted credit card numbers. There is no workaround for this issue, other than Dydacomp's solution to manually delete all the numbers from the file before sending it over. Bah! Now we have an issue that is crippling our order taking ability and Dydacomp wants us to renew our annual contract in order to look at our files to tell us what's wrong. That's just wrong...I'm willing to pay on a per-call basis for support (support to fix a problem that they likely caused anyways) but forcing us to sign another annual contract is extortion. I could go on, but it just makes me more angry to talk about it. Help is on the way, and we are moving to a new order processing system in the coming months...but MOM has certainly punished this man.
