We'd like to install magnetic credit card readers at our POP workstations. Does anyone know which card readers are compatible with MOM? Are there special setup requirements for using the readers with MOM/POP?

These kind of readers like barcode scanners and other alternative input devices are 'wedges' in that they read and mimic a keyboard typing and or wedge themselves between the keyboard and the computer. You will often see them referred to as wedges.

In short they should be compatible with anything. It's almost like asking if you keyboard is compatible with MOM.

I ask because the raw data stream from a card reader contains multiple tracks and extra characters that are not needed nor wanted in the POP terminal of MOM. I understand that the card reader must be programmable to format the data stream properly.

Can anyone recommend a compatible reader that is programmable?

Can anyone recommend the proper formatting?

I understand that Cherry makes a keyboard / card reader combo that works. Can anyone tell me which model?
