In Topic: Anyone know of a way to do this? [5.4]

Hey-

I work at a online printing store in which there are several stages of completion for each order. When we process an order we put it on hold, recieve information from the customer, draft a proof and submit it for approval, and once approved we print and ship. We currently put notes into each order as we go along, so if the customer calls anyone can open the order and know exactly what stage the order is on. As the orders keep coming in, manually taking notes becomes tedious and time consuming. Is there a way to automate this process? I'm thinking the only way to do it is a VB script or something that can recieve the order number and present a set of buttons that execute simple tasks like "Info Recieved," "Order Proofed," "Order Approved," etc.

Is there a simpler way to mark stages in an order?

I don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for, but you can use the List Management feature to create customer demographic screens. On these custom screens you can create drop down menus, text fields, etc..

This allows employees a place to document notes pertaining to orders or customer requests. Once set up, it is accessed in the customer look up screen.
