Researching POP embezzlement scheme

02 June 2005 - 07:30 PM

We are researching an embezzlement scheme (i.e. illegitimate cash refunds on the POP module). We are wondering whether you can tell us whether any of the back-door file accesible through dbuwin.exe would:

(1)have a time-stamp for POP transactions (journal.dbf has sequential trans_id numbers and a postdate date stamp, but not a date stamp for the actual time of the POP transaction; (IN PARTICULAR, WE NEED TO FIND THE DATE STAMP FOR CASH REFUNDS ON ORIGINAL CASH/CHECK TRANSACTIONS) and/or

(2)a time stamp record of when user ID's logged on and off the system.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

debit cards vs. credit cards

Hi. We use MOM to process point-of-sale transactions at our two retail stores, and it also receives sales from our Internet store.

For POS, we enter the transaction in MOM, and it uses authorize.net for the payment gateway. Is anyone else with MOM/authorize.net using a debit card processing system where the customer enters their PIN? We'd like to do that if possible to save on credit card fees, but I don't even know if MOM or the payment gateway offers that as an option. We never use the Dydacomp service/maintenance, so we're not subscribed to that right now to just ask Dydacomp. So, if anyone has any knowledge in this area, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.
