In Topic: MOM 7i splitting PB line items into Pl and BO lines

05 November 2010 - 05:19 PM

I have the option to do this on order entry cleared, but it does it when I do the pick lists.
Any way to have it not do this at all?

With yard goods inventory is fuzzy (sometimes literally) so we often will have a few inches (or more) more or less than MOM thinks we do. It's getting really annoying having to delete the BO lines in addition to adjusting the amounts on the Pl lines. Having to figure out what's what on large orders also slows us down.

Thanks for any insight into this!

Hi Johnay,

Two things at work here.

It sounds like you have the option turned OFF for splitting In Stock and Back Ordered items into two separate line items on the order. But these will always be split once you run the order through stages.
You probably Shipped-Ahead the order (or have the setting turned on to ALWAYS ship ahead the order)

Once you do this, the pick ticket HAS to tell the Picker how many to pick now! The remaining units would then go on BackOrder.

Does that help explain things a little?

Of course I am working in a test environment, that goes without saying (one should hope). Thank you though for the concern, I completely understand your viewpoint.

I did completely re-index MOM, to no avail. However, I did not attempt to delete .CDX files. Can you give me more details on that procedure?

Also, as far as "exclusive" user goes, do you mean the only user logged on? or is there an "exclusive" (or power) user account?

Hello again Jack,

Glad you aren't experimenting on live data. What apparantly is common sense to you has been proven to be "not-so-common" with most others.

To better explain what I suggested before:
You would get every user out of MOM.
Then, navigate to your MOM directory from within Explorer (or My Computer) and delete all .cdx files from the directory.
Then have a MOM user with MOM Admin priviledges log into MOM, but keep everyone else out.
MOM will re-build the index files.
When done re-building, have that one MOM Admin re-index the system with everyone out of MOM. That will allow for an exclusive reindex.

Still not sure if that will do the trick, but it certainly would be my first step.

MOM Version 7i.
I was building reports out of what is available in MOM already, Can you suggest a couple good reporting programs?

The report I was asking about was for orders (dropship and shipped from us) with a specific order type (which is simple in MOM), but I also need it to show the item #'s that were on each order.

Hi Egan,

Do you have Report Builder installed for 7i yet? If not, contact Dydacomp for a 1-user license and then report back here.

WHat steps should we take to ship internationally. We usually go through fedex.com to make the labels, but is there a way in M.O.M. to make an international label?

MOM does not support international shipments.
That said, there have been some users who have created their own custom shipping rate tables in the MOM system. But if you do that, and subscribe to MOM's shipping rate updates, make sure you backup your custom tables or you'll have to re-enter them each time.

We currently export our international shipping orders to UPS WorldShip by mapping the fields in MOM to UPS (not fun.)

Hi all,

Just started at a company utilizing MOM 5.4, and just so happen to start right during the time the company is changing all of their prices. I am familiar (somewhat) with DBUWin, and have successfully exported the Price.dbf file into Access, updated the prices, then exported to excel.

From there, I used DBUWin to "zap" the price table, then append from the excel sheet. The crazy thing is it worked, kind of.

The problem is, though all of the prices ARE populated when you check in the product descriptions, the prices aren't displaying AT ALL when you enter an order.

I am in a real time crunch, and am greatly appreciative of any support.

Thank you.

dbuwin is powerful and if you don't understand the system 100%, it is best to work with a backup of MOM to test your results out on.

Have you tried getting everyone out of MOM, deleting all .cdx (database indexes) in the MOMWIN folder, and then having one user log back into MOM (it will auto-recreate the new index files) and then do a full re-index of MOM in Exclusive User mode?
