Does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of character limitations?
We sell wine and whenever there is a particularly long name of a producer or wine, we have to abbreviate some words so it will fit in the Description Line 1 field. This is generally a bad thing because we want consistency and accuracy throughout.
So before I call MOM and have to be on hold for hours, i just wanted to check here.
Is it even possible to expand the fields? Would it involve an upgrade or some sort of program addition? I am in no way an IT person so I don't even know if is is feasible. Or would it be possible to contract someone else for this service?
It seems like a simple request, I just need more space for stock entry, but you never know with MOM.
Any help would be awesome!

Field lengths are pre-determined and cannot be changed.
What version of MOM are you using? In a past update (5.x??) they expanded the field length for DESC1.

we are using MOM version 5.4 and currently DESC1 is limited to 60 characters but is there really no way around that???

Nope. It used to only be 30 characters not too long ago!
