SERVICE - check this box if the item is a service item without any physical inventory. For example, an item that is an extra service on another item like engraving or monogramming. Note: Inventory on service items must be maintained just as if the item were a physical inventory item.
We sell our useable fabric scraps by the pound but don't really keep inventory of how much we have on hand, so I'd love to be able to set it up as a non-inventory item. I didn't see such an option for items, but Service seemed like it would be workable until I noticed that services are tracked in inventory. What the heck is that about?
Anyway, if Dydacomp is listening, I'd like to see a Non-Inventory checkbox in the item info in a future release. It would simply indicate that the item is not tracked in inventory, but may need to be packed.
I'm sure some other folks here could come up with uses for it as well.
