Hi I have been trying to fix something in mom I opened the cust dbf & started playing around and In error I deleted the cust dbf so I restored it from a back up but was not up to date how can I put back the data I tried using dbuwin but when I load back the cust dbf mom tells me invalid index how can I create a new index outside mom so mom should accept it
 thank

Backup and delete CUST.CDX in the MOM directory and reload MOM. It should fix that problem.

Yikes,

The solution was easy until you tried your backup idea...

If you delete a record in a foxpro table the record is still there, it is only marked for deletion. If you go into dbuwin and select the option of viewing all records you will see the record you deleted. Only after you pack and ZAP the table are the records gone.

At this point you need to delete the cust.cdx file. Now by opening MOM you will trigger a new index to be created. I doubt your customer's order and invoice history have been deleted so you will have to manually enter the info into your CUST.DBF table and hope you can make a match.

If you need help recovering data email me and I will try and help.

Cheers,

DISCLAIMER: Always backup your MOMWIN folder before attempting to perform any updates, testing, etc. Once you blast the data away it's gone forever.
My advice is based on my 8 years of experience with MOM and Dydacomp. If you are not comfortable with data manipulation then hire someone who is.

Thanks for your response
But I found an solution before the replies came
By creating a new dbf file & putting in all the inf. I needed
Then I opened dbuwin & the cust dbf & did "append from file" and it works like a jiffy

P.S. David I need some rr templates from you

deleting the CDX would have worked fine.
