#1419 Email notice when invoicing

Posted by extragear1 on 14 June 2006 - 07:03 AM in Email Issues & List Management

Sending the invoice via email instead of mailing.

Hello: Many of our orders are dropshipments. In these cases we end up printing the invoice and then mailing it to the

customer. Of course this causes us to waste time printing, stuffing and mailing the invoice. As well as incurring the

postage expense.

What we would like to do instead, is to email the invoice to the customer.

As for the format of the email. The invoice could either be:

1. Contained within the body of the invoice as html
2. Attached to the email as a pdf file.

Ideally we would be able to run the creation and sending of the invoice during MOM order processing.

Is anyone doing this yet and if so, how did you set it up?

I've already read a previous thread concerning this,

http://momfaq.com/fo...89&hl=invoicing

We would like to know of anyones experience doing this.

Some issues we see when doing this:

1. The ability of the customer to receive an email.
2. The ability of the customer to open/view a PDF if the PDF format was used.
3. Customers wanting a paper invoice sent to them.

Note we have Report Writer and are running MOM 5.4

Thanks

#1298 Software Firewall and MOM

Posted by extragear1 on 07 March 2006 - 07:02 AM in General Mail Order Manager Discussion

Hello:

We've been running a simple peer to peer network for many years. We have eight systems in total on the network with five MOM seats. This is combined with the appropriate hardware firewall (this being a router with built in security), establishing password protected user accounts on each machine, assigning rights to the MOMWIN folder, making sure each workstation has its own anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-adware, and software firewall.

One of our problems from time to time is configuring the software firewall to work with MOM. If a workstation is running XP pro and uses the built in Microsoft firewall, this usually runs fine with MOM. Certain versions of Norton Personal firewall run fine, others dont. This applies also to Zone alarm.

My questions is, do you run a software firewall on your workstations? (A tech at MOM said that a software firewall will slow MOM down.) If so, what causes the least headache?

I would also be interested in anyones experience running Zone Alarm security suite on a workstation. This was recently installed on one workstation. And even after trying to configure it to work with MOM, MOM opens very slowly.

Thanks
