#548 UPS Tracking No. Look-up

Posted by Luke on 20 January 2005 - 08:16 PM in Shipping Issues & Calculation

...Because when the staff told me they didn't have a way to lookup tracking numbers I of course didn't even bother to look in MOM myself! Typical. Thanks for pointing that out!

#528 UPS Tracking No. Look-up

Often times our S&H crew will have a UPS tracking number and need to find out which MOM customer corresponds to that TN. Before, they would call UPS for the receiver's name. Now they use DBFview (http://www.dbfview.com/) to search the TRACKINGNO column of BOX.dbf. Then they scroll over to the first column which contains the order number, then go back into MOM and search for that order.

It's pretty simple, but basically it boils down to me not wanting to make the S&H crew operate a DBF viewer (they don't even use MOM).

dbfview may or may not have the ability to automate the task, I just haven't tackled that yet.

You can try the 30-day trial of this or buy for ~$20:
http://www.dbfview.com/

No "linking", "importing", or "browsing" tables; just double click the dbf and there it is.

#489 M.O.M. Features Wishlist

Posted by Luke on 14 January 2005 - 12:47 PM in General Mail Order Manager Discussion

I emailed Dydacomp about changing the keyboard shortcut for deleting a line item and they called me back to get some more information, so hopefully it will actually get changed.

Ctrl-X, the Windows shortcut for "Cut", deletes a line item in the MOM order screen. So guess what happens when our users try to cut important text from the custom memo field...

And to add insult to injury, the text doesn't get copied to the clipboard and is lost.

#488 Anyone using File Share Software?

Shareaza is good. Some people have complained that it doesn't return many results, but that's just because they didn't setup their ports/router correctly.
