Has anyone had any positive experience with 3rd party shipping solutions other than CPS? (harveysoft) We currently ship with UPS through MOM and we also ship USPS through CPS. Is there a program out there that also offers DHL and FedEx interfaces? Just thought I would ask....we have had to write custom scripts to get the other systems to interface. The process is time consuming and can be costly if your system goes down.

We have been using Pitney Bowes Ascent for about 6 months now with a near seamless integration. They had to do quite a bit of programming and scripting on the front end, but now that everything is in place, we can ship via UPS, FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, DHL, and USPS (manifesting) all through ascent. Ascent writes back tracking numbers and actual shipping costs back to the box.dbf table so you have all the information back in MOM.

Two companies to check out are V-Technologies and Malvern Shipping Systems. Both offer UPS, FedEx, DHL and USPS capabilities and are in the same general price range as harveysoft. Both solutions offer various integration capabilities.

We use Clippership from Kewill and it works flawlessly using the USI interface for tracking packages.

We rateshop every package, so when entered we have only three shipping methods (ground, express, overnight). Clippership shows us the best rate, and fastest delivery.

The best part: With rateshopping on your manifest system, using all of the major carriers, they come to you with better rates every time their volume goes down.
