Hello,

We have a custom designed website written in cold fusion that we have been running for years. We are looking for a way for customers to be able to check order status, order history and tracking info. Has anyone scripted an order status solution that doesn't use sitelink, freeport or any other third party programs?
The system only needs to go one way (M.O.M. to website). Basically which databases hold the information needed for order status and order history. We figured box, cms, cust, and stock so far. Are we missing any? Or is there a better way to do this without changing our shopping cart solution.

Thanks

Hi JWURUNNER,

We have written a few scripts which meet your criteria. Our programmers have developed code in coldfusion that allows the customer to log into their account on line and view their order status.

The database tables you need to look at in addition to BOX,CMS,CUST and STOCK are CMS, INVOICE, ITEMS and JOURNAL. These tables contain payment history as well as the invoice history. Items.dbf contains all the info you will need to show in terms of order item details ie. Stock ID / Item status, purchase price etc.

Again, our code was written in house and it handles the task of updating the customer order status decently but I wouldn't consider it to be everything I could hope for in an online cust service solution.

Keep me posted if you find something better.

Cheers,

David

DISCLAIMER: Always backup your MOMWIN folder before attempting to perform any updates, testing, etc. Once you blast the data away it's gone forever.
My advice is based on my 8 years of experience with MOM and Dydacomp. If you are not comfortable with data manipulation then hire someone who is.

Hi Folks,

This thread might be a little old, but I just read it so...

I'm not sure if you are aware that we sell a product called "Visibiltiy" which
is an order status product for Mail Order Manager.
It is NOT shopping cart specific and can be completely hosted on your
servers as long as you have PHP and MySQL -- we can also host if you
don't have this ability.

The product uses MOM's table information for all orders and passes them up to
your server automatically using our client software. The client can be
scheduled as an NT background program, so iy can run this wihtout having
to worry about "clicking" or manually interfacing with software.

On your server, you can integrate the order status pages into your site using our
Smarty templates so that its a part of your web site. The look and feel
is completely configurable as long as you know HTML!

Your customers can login and gain very detailed order information such as
the tracking number, what went into the box, what the status of the
order is...

We also provide customizations and consulting for the product if folks need
something more tailored or

If you're interesting in checking Visibility out, you can see this at:

http://www.freeportw...lity.html<br />

If you need more details about the product, feel free to e-mail [email protected]
and we'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.
