HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OR USED UPS MAIL INNOVATIONS WITH MOM.
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MAY NOT KNOW WHAT UPS MAIL INNOVATIONS IS..........IT IS A METHOD OF SHIPPING WHICH IS SUPER CHEAP. UPS TAKES YOUR PACKAGES AND HAULS THEM TO THE NEAREST POSTAL OFFICE AND THEY DELIVER IT FROM THERE. SO ACTUALLY IT IS A COMINGLE BETWEEN UPS AND USPS.
I HAVE YET TO BE ABLE TO MAKE IT GIVE ME A TRACKING NUMBER FOR EACH PACKAGE, BUT IT WILL SAVE OUR COMPANY 80,000 + A YEAR TO BE ABLE TO USE IT. SO IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR ME TO BE ABLE TOP MAKE IT WORK WITH MOM FOR OUR COMPANY.

IF ANYONE HAS BEEN USING IT WITH MOM ........PLEASE....PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

I'm a customer who has fallen victim to UPS Mail Innovations. They may save money for the shipper, but the customer gets screwed with late delivery. A recent order of mine through Deep Discount DVD for which I paid for Priority Mail shipping wasn't even in the postal service until 2 days later, when it actually would have been delivered had they simply dropped it in the mail. The order, shipped on a Wednesday, should have arrived Friday, Saturday at the latest... instead was delivered the following Monday, and re-labeled 'standard mail'. I don't see how huge delays benefit a company in any way, and certainly not the paying customer.

I beg companies.. please don't use this service.. your customers will hate you for it. People choose mail service rather than UPS for a reason.. getting UPS involved is just asking for trouble.. delays, lost and damaged packages as any customer familiar with UPS knows all too well.

I, too, have fallen victim to UPS Mail Innovations, however I must say that the problem with UPS Mail Innovations is the mail part, not the UPS part, and here's why:

UPS promises that they'll deliver the package to the postal destination in 1-2 business days and after careful research, I have yet to locate a package that UPS didn't deliver on time.

However, it seems that the problem is Post Office Employees...

Let's back up for a minute here and talk about why it's cheaper to go UPS Mail Innovations than it is to go straight USPS. For one, the USPS is a government funded agency -- that means it's their job to break even. They're not supposed to lose money or turn a profit, but instead just use their resources and break even. Because they have no profit margin (supposedly) they can't "give" any on the rates unless you're willing to do part of the work. If you're willing to "drop ship" the package, as in, drive it half way to it's destination (or not even half way, any distance, really) the post office will give you part of the postage back, since you assumed part of their cost by taking it part way there.

This is exactly what UPS is doing. I also found that through my research, it wasn't so much that ALL post offices were doing poorly, but instead that somehow employees seem to have the power to choose not to take these packages sitting on their docks out for delivery on these days. Why they're doing this baffles me, afterall... it's all presorted and ready to go to the customer.

With all this said, yes, it's true that if you have people placing orders and paying for stuff, at this point in time, it's probably not the smartest idea to use UPS Mail Innovations. However, if you are sending out things that aren't terribly time sensitive, I can see where this service would benefit.

Also, the service has improved greatly over the 3-5 years it's been around, and it stands to reason that if UPS is losing customers because of this, they'll start cracking down on Post Offices not following through.
For that matter, UPS actually wanted to know which PO's, in which regions, etc were causing problems.

That at least speaks to UPS' credit.
