Trying to find out the procedure to un-assign one computer as a workstation and designate a different computer for that task. MOM will still be run of the first computer but want to have a designated computer to print labels. Any ideas???
Ummm... not quite sure what you are asking. Just quit running MOM on that computer or uninstall the MOM software if you want.
If it is a licensing question, MOM doesn't care how many computers have MOM installed, only the number of simultaneous connections running. So for example, if you were to have 10 MOM licenses, a maximum of 10 computers can be in MOM at any one time, even though you may have MOM installed on 20 computers. And if Computer #3 logs out of MOM, Computer #11 can now log in.

Computer #1 has MOM on it and is a commissioned workstation for the UPS labels......we want to continue accessing and processing order on computer #1 but set up a designated computer #2 to process the labels. This is due to 5 hours on the phone with tech support and not being able to rectify an error that is preventing the label printing from being done on #1. I hope that makes I have clarifed the situation.

Well first, I have to say that Dydacomp recommends only one computer be a commissioned UPS workstation (even though I have 2 or 3.)
Questions:
You are talking about printing UPS labels and not MOM Product Labels, correct?
Are you exporting to UPS WorldShip or are you using MOM's integrated UPSLink HTTP feature?
What version of MOM are you running?
What version OS is on this workstation?
What make and model printer are you are using?
What print driver is installed for this printer?
How is the printer connected to this computer (ie. LPT1, networked, etc.)
Are you on a real server/workstation network?

No, not at all. We only run UPSLink Shipping from one of them. But whenever we log out of the other one, it too reminds us that it is a commissioned workstation and needs to check for mail with an option for Yes or No.

Just noticed that you answered my questions. I can's see why your printer isn't working and/or recognized. You should easily be able to use the Generic Print Driver for that printer. How familiar are you with RegEdit?

Planetdj, ive read some of your responses and must say you are quite good with the system. bravo.
To clarify the reason it is recommended to only have one commissioned station is that if you do not use the additional stations to upload the "end of day" they will eventually expire and need to be recommissioned.
I believe its something like 30 or 60 days later.
Its just easier if you pick one computer and always send the end of day from it.

Thanks. We've been using MOM since '99, and even with its quirks, I can't imagine using anything less powerful. And anything more powerful is much more costly. MOM seems to work for our business.

Ahhh... that could be. We have never performed end of day from the others that I can recall. Just the Shipping Computer.
