Dydacomp's SiteLINK Ecommerce Solution Creates Instant Sitemap

- Generates Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Engine Submissions
with One Click-

TOTOWA, N.J., November 29, 2006 - Nearly 18 months ago Dydacomp developed one click sitemap generation for its SiteLINK ecommerce platform specifically for submission to Google. Now, with the announcement that Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft will all be adopting the same Sitemaps 0.90 software protocol, SiteLINK's functionality will make search engine submission faster and easier than ever.

Designed exclusively for businesses that use Dydacomp's industry leading Mail Order Manager (M.O.M.) software, the dynamic ASP-driven SiteLINK ecommerce system has seamlessly integrated with M.O.M. since its introduction in 1997. SiteLINK includes a combination of Active Inventory and Order Import Utilities that make transmission of vital inventory and order data completely automatic between the online store and back office operations.

"We are pleased that Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft have decided to jointly adopt the Sitemaps 0.90 protocol for search engine crawling," said Al Pascale, Dydacomp's Manager of SiteLINK Support Operations, "Over a year ago SiteLINK ecommerce solution integrated the ability to generate a Google sitemap at the click of a mouse to streamline search engine submission. As a solution provider we endeavor to anticipate needs and trends and provide our customer base with the best, most efficient tools to optimize their ecommerce business. This announcement is a testament to our development team's foresight and immersion in this rapidly changing marketplace."

Integration with web commerce leaders has been and remains a priority for Dydacomp. The company has developed bi-directional feeds with Froogle, MIVA, eBay, Amazon and others to help multichannel merchants easily and efficiently manage complex sales operations from a single source.

CAUTION!
I used this feature and my monthly hosting fee tripled nearly instantly. It seems that the search engines crawl the site and 'increase traffic' according to Dydacomp. The increase in traffic they charge you for even though they can see the IP's "appear to be search engines". I had them disable this but it cost me nearly $1000 before it was over. I think that excluding the IPs of search engines from the traffic you are charged for would be the fair way to play, but that is just my $.02.

As long as the pages being crawled are cacheable and have a decent expiration period, what you're seeing shoud only be an initial surge as the SEs crawl newly discovered and updated pages. If the sitemaps are done properly you should see this sort of traffic drop to a much lesser maintenance level.

At least that's what we saw back when I started using sitemaps - doing it manually. Mind you our hosting doesn't charge for extra bandwidth - it just limits the simultaneous connections.
