Hello,
I recently discovered on an order that MOM was rounding up totals incorrectly on line items where an additional discount was applied.
Please try this yourself and tell me if you come to the same conclusion.
In my example I sold a customer 7 units of an item for $24.98 with an additional 5% discount.
The unit cost including the discount is $21.83
The extended price SHOULD BE $152.81 (7 units x 21.83)
Unfortunately, MOM rounds this line total to $152.82
Yes. It is only a penny but it is still wrong.
My observations:
The code in MOM is factoring the discount to 3 decimal places.
22.98 - (22.98 x discount/100)
=22.98 - (22.98 x .05/100)
=22.98 - (22.98*.05)
=22.98 - (1.149) **NOTE!!This is where MOM should round to 1.15!
=21.831
7 units x 21.831 = 152.82 WRONG
7 units x 21.83 = 152.81 CORRECT
With Correct I get paid. With WRONG I get flack from accountants and book keepers.
!! HELP !!
Line item totals calculated incorrectly - mom 4.3

DISCLAIMER: Always backup your MOMWIN folder before attempting to perform any updates, testing, etc. Once you blast the data away it's gone forever.
My advice is based on my 8 years of experience with MOM and Dydacomp. If you are not comfortable with data manipulation then hire someone who is.

Ok - if anyone is interested I worked out the solution with the help of a fellow mom user:
ROUND((IT_UNLIST)*((100-ITEMS->DISCOUNT)/100),2)*QUANTS
This is how you calculated a line total in RR.

Hi David,
Sorry, I didn't realize you needed a formula for RR (which I already had created.) Your original post appeared to me that you were asking why Dydacomp wasn't rounding properly in MOM.

Hey Planetdj,
No worries! I appreciate the support!!!
I wasn't sure what I needed at first. I was hoping that someone had a momwin update that would eliminate the RR fix .
Best,
DN
