Hey!

I work at an online software store. We're currently on ver5.4 and i must say we love mom. We used to do all order processing in quickbooks but that was a nightmare and mom has Really made things easier for us. Quick question though... I want to set up a barcode scanner so we dont have to manully check the packages before they go out the door. Which models work best with mom? anything i should know before attempting to set it up?

Thanks!

I have had great experiences with Symbol brand scanners. They are programmable so they can emulate key strokes after the scan. For example, I could program the scanner to enter the order number, tab 3 times, enter 12345, then tab 2 more times. This has been very helpful, especially when working with or FedEx system that has been integrated with MOM.

The only other thing that I would say that you need to remember is that, by default, barcode scanners do not read every single type of barcode. It may be necesary to "teach" your scanner to read the particular type of barcode that you are printing.
