Has anyone gone to a MOM training session? Are there any available other than going to NJ for training? I'm looking to get some extensive training on the system to better understand how the system works and how to best make use of the system. I live in the Midwest and would prefer to find somewhere locally but wonder if that is even possible.
If you attended a training session was it worth the time and money?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello Michelle,
I'll let the MOM users relate their opinions about the in-house M.O.M. training, since they are the best ones to say if it's worth it or not.
However, if you'd rather not come to NJ or if you have a group of people to train, then you can always look into having M.O.M. Helpers come to your location.
For more information on that, feel free to contact:

If you need more info on this or our in-house training, please feel free to contact a M.O.M. Account Rep at 800-858-3666.

Hi Michelle,
I've been to two sessions. One for MOM 4.0 and another for MOM 5.0 Mind you we never upgraded to MOM 5.0 it was worth the time and money to attend the training session.
The training session in Newark, NJ was a two day event that takes you through the basics and then some more advance techniques for using the system. I was fortunate enough to network with several other MOM users after the training session where we exchanged tips and ideas during dinner.
Go by yourself and take back what you learn to teach your staff. It is expensive to send more than one person.
Best,

DISCLAIMER: Always backup your MOMWIN folder before attempting to perform any updates, testing, etc. Once you blast the data away it's gone forever.
My advice is based on my 8 years of experience with MOM and Dydacomp. If you are not comfortable with data manipulation then hire someone who is.

We found training at Dydacomp offices to be very helpful. I recommend them.
There was a good group of people attending that had a lot of experience with MOM, making the discussions around practices and methods very worthwhile. I gained as much from interaction with strong MOM users as the trainers.
You have trainers that know the system pretty well, and you have MOM support next door. Most of you process-sensitive questions can be answered and demonstrated in real time.
I was able to go back and train our entire staff with confidence.
Dydacomp needs to develop an advanced class because there are a lot of things that are not covered because of time and content. I would definitely attend a class devoted to SiteLINK, DBUWIN, accounting, process change management in MOM, and reporting.
Given the type of questions on this and the MOM group FAQ, they could easily fill one or two classes a year.
