If you are a user of the ICCAS module (or thinking about becoming one), evaluate carefully. There is some information you may not know.

The ICCAS interface connects to authorize.net for credit card authorization. If you have an existing authorize.net account, you can not use it. You must get a new account through DydaComp.

When you do, you will be charged a monthly fee for gateway access of $25.00 and a PER TRANSACTION fee of .09.

If you set up an authorize.net account through somebody other than Dydacomp you can get significant savings (the "standard' street rate is $15.00 plus .05 per transaction). However, as stated above, this account will not work with MOM.

Why? Very simple. Dydacomp is a reseller for authorize.net. As a reseller, they get some portion of the fees that are collected. One would think Dydacomp would give their own customers a "preferred" rate. Instead, they choose to give them a high rate to increase their own revenue.

Remember to add these fees to the cost of ICCAS if you plan on using it. The purchase price is just the beginning....

Lee,

I am not sure if I would blame Dydacomp or Authorize.Net for that issues. I would think that Authorize.net would be the ones who set up the referral programs and rates for the resellers. By selling at a lower rate at the "street" price then they are compeing against their own customers.
If Authorize.Net doesn't set the rates for the resellers, then Dydacomp should give an explanation as to why they would rip off their own customers.

Hi,

As far as I can tell from Authorize.net literature, they set a "base" rate and the reseller can set their price anywhere above that up to a maximum. For example, Authorize.net may set the rate at .04 per transaction plus $10.00 a month. The reseller can set the rate anywhere up to .10 and $25.00. I am in the process of getting the full reseller agreement from Authorize.net. I will keep you posted...

Very interesting - I just spoke to a dydacomp rep on Friday 10-28-2005 (yesterday) and was told I could use my existing Authorize.net account with MOM. I will have to confirm, but if they make you use their account, it's time for me to find a different solution and I'll be glad the rep had to call me back Monday and I haven't already purchased.

Yes, very interesting. Please let me know what they say. I will be happy to forward the email I received from them stating how it will NOT work...

I just spoke with tech support about this...

We have authorize.net bundled with our merchant account through Wells Fargo.

I am told that our current Authorize.net account will not work with MOM for "technical reasons", and we do have to get the Authorize.net account through Dydacomp if we want to use MOM for credit card processing.

They could at least tell us this ahead of time.
