Has anyone else had this problem?

Ever since we upgraded to MOM 5.0 we sometimes have a problem with a line item not recording properly. The Customer Service Rep. will type in (or in retail they scan in with a barcode reader) the stock number. However, the stock number field in the line item remains blank ... the description and price show up, but the stock number does not show up. When the next item is entered the line item is written over and that item is lost from the order.

For phone orders it is a major inconvenience because once it starts its seems to take 5-6 times trying before it enters the line correctly. However, this is a huge problem in retail because if the employee is not watching every line (the scanner beeps when it reads the barcode even if MOM doesn't recrod properly), the customer gets a free item and we lose the money and screw up our inventory (MOM doesn't think the item was sold at all). Before we realized this problem was occurring, we lost a lot of money and really screwed up inventory. Now that we are aware of the problem it is a little better, but it still wastes a lot of time for both us and our customers..

We've been trying to get the problem fixed since November 2004, when we upgraded, without any luck - we upgraded, rebuilt databases, etc. everything that Dydacomp support suggested, but nothing has corrected the problem.

Fix - None , Dydacomp keeps telling me that the programmers are working on it

Workaround - Only to keep trying to enter the line item until it works

Any help or news would be appreciated.

Wow. That is one problem I have never seen.

I would though go into the Options > Point of Purchase Module > Define Settings and uncheck "Always scan a quantity of 1 for all products" That way it scans and beeps but the clerk has to put in the qty therefore forcing them to look at the screen, type in the qty, and hit enter. A small trade off in time for the sake of profit. I went to this when clerks were accidently scanning products and forgetting to change the qty.

Good luck and I hope they get this fixed for you.

This happens to us on a frequent basis. We have had to tell our cashiers to make sure to count all items before finishing the order because when they scan through they lose them sometimes.
