I am a QuickBooks Pro Advisor & SQL/Delphi database programming consultant called in to assist a new MOM customer with import/export of customer data and order history.

I formatted a customer list in csv format from Excel to match the structure of cust.dbf and was going to append. My client had previously used the List import feature of Mom for a customer import so we looked at that before completing the append.

The Customer List import "wants" a different structure - different field order and not as many fields - signifigantly to my client - no CType2 field which we want to fill on import to manage tracking the source of imported data.

My question is - will I be in trouble with any related files if we append the data into cust.dbf. - OK more specifically:
1. Will the CustNum still be assigned on import
2. Will we have to manually dedup (actually I can do this in SQL - but want to know will we have to)
3. Are there any relational issues with other tables that the List import takes care of, but append will not.

TIA for any help.
