Has anyone else had a problem running MOM 5.0 on a computer which previously had UPS Worldship installed? We can't seem to get the new MOM to set up communication with UPS through the HTTP link. Any answers??? :(

I think Dydacomp says that it cannot work (one application conflicts with the other). Their only answer is "the is a .dll conflict." Pretty dumb that there is no way to make it work.

It's a crappy registry problem.
We had a similar problem with mom 4.3
trying to upload PLD over modem
after installing worldship 6.

Compare these registry values to your own,
taking care to customize modemname and phonenumber values
for the windows name for your modem,
and the dialing-prefix for your phone line.

[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\UPS\UPSL32]
"broker"="www.pld-x.ups.com"
"callCount"="0"
"callRetry"="5"
"detailLvl"="3"
"logLvl"="999"
"MaxGetIpFail"="5"
"maxReDials"="5"
"modemInactiveTimeout"="4"
"modemName"="Standard 56000 bps V90 Modem"
"phoneNumber1"="18005904857"
"phoneNumber2"="18005904857"
"phoneNumber3"="18005904857"
"phoneNumber4"="18005904857"
"PrimaryDNS1"="32.73.203.132"
"PrimaryDNS2"="32.73.203.132"
"PrimaryDNS3"="32.73.203.132"
"PrimaryDNS4"="32.73.203.132"
"SecondaryDNS1"="32.84.104.25"
"SecondaryDNS2"="32.84.104.25"
"SecondaryDNS3"="32.84.104.25"
"SecondaryDNS4"="32.84.104.25"
"userID1"="SecureIP.UPSS.VendOne"
"userID2"="SecureIP.UPSS.VendOne"
"userID3"="SecureIP.UPSS.VendOne"
"userID4"="SecureIP.UPSS.VendOne"

Also check the version number of ulink.dll.

The problem with having worldship installed on it is that you MUST remove worldship and delete all the dlls that worldship installed.

The problem is that all 3rd party shipping system providers (Dydacomp, Harveysoft, Malvern Systems, Kewill, Pitney etc) must use UPS provided tools within their solutions. These same tools (UPSHTTPLink) are used by UPS Worldship. So, to date, unfortunately, it is not possible to have two instances of UPSHTTPLink running on a single PC.

I got one of the tech support guys at Dydcomp to send me an internal document that they use which gives instructions on how to make the UPSLink HTTP work on a machine that has previously had Worldship or CPS installed on it. The procedure that this document provides is as follows:
-uninstall UPSLINK HTTP and Worldship (if not previously uninstalled)
-reboot PC
-uninstall Internet Explorer
-reboot PC again
-reinstall Internet Explorer
-reboot PC again
-reinstall UPSLINK HTTP

They say that following these steps should get you around the dll issue of previous installs of Worldship. Also, make sure that you go into the UPS Online Compatible Interface Settings screen in MOM Global Parameters and complete the Communication Setup. This is an easy step to overlook, but the interface will never work if you don't complete that section.

Has anyone been able to confirm the steps below? The only direction I've gotten from Dydacomp support is that I have to wipe the PC and reinstall from Windows up...I'd rather avoid that if possible :)
