Why in the world can you not make simple configuration changes down on the customer level of MOM for options like:

1. Do they want to see back orders on their invoice or not.
2. Sort the invoice by any field. ie. Title , Stock Number,
3. Customize the layout of the invoice with any field in the mom database.

We currently accomplish this task by running Report Writer invoices after we run MOM invoices. We save a fortune on paper by not printing back orders. We also held on to several key accounts by meeting their requirements.

I sure hope that MOM XL has this built in flexibility.

David

DISCLAIMER: Always backup your MOMWIN folder before attempting to perform any updates, testing, etc. Once you blast the data away it's gone forever.
My advice is based on my 8 years of experience with MOM and Dydacomp. If you are not comfortable with data manipulation then hire someone who is.

Hello,

I just received an annoying email from a member named Canuck 5.1 :

Canuck MOM 5.1 user has just posted a reply to a topic that you have subscribed to titled "Custome Invoice Scenerio".

"We save a fortune on paper by not printing back orders."

?

Sorry, but I can't resist a reply. I would be far more worried about why there are so many BO in the first place. BO never "save" money. The lost sales and unsatisfied customers must be costing you a far greater fortune than your "paper savings."

In response to Canuck's "witty" comment I would like to state the following: Our business model receives orders in the magnitude of 200 to 400 line items per order. An order that is entered today will be shipped as product arrives as per the customers request. Since we do not stock every movie title in the world in our warehouse, we order our product from a local supplier. Our customer base is made up mostly of school and library institutions which do not mind receiving the orders in partial shipments. However, they do not want a ton of paper work listing every title on backorder. Hence the need for a custom solution to list only those items which are sold on that particular invoice.

Canuck, I appreciate your effort in assessing our business protocol even though you know little to nothing about it.

Cheers,

David

That is just rediculous.

I'm sure you don't have millions of dollars to spend stocking every item - I know in my business I cant stock even 1/2 my items.
