stock import help

Hi

We're a UK user of MOM 5.4. I've read through some very useful posts on MOMFAQ regarding stock importing but am still having trouble and wonder if someone can help.

Rather than pay the consultant $1500 to do this every six months, I really need to learn how to do it myself.

I need to amend the buy price, selling price and catalogue page no (which I put in extended info field) of approx 7500 items in STOCK.DBF.

I also need to import 2000 new items but I think I can simply append these in DBU Win with a CSV file.

Finally, I need to mark approx 3000 items as discontinued.

By the way, I found a company on the web called Axton Enterprise which seemed to offer the perfect solution for $500, with a piece of software to do just what I require. I haven't been able to get hold of them. Does anyone know if they're still around? Or if someone else does this software now?

I'd appreciate any assistance

Yes they are just they have recently moved so the phone has changed and has not yet been updated

You don't actually need to use all five slots for products when
importing, no matter how many items in the order. Most of my clients
only use the first one, product01 and the quantity and price fields
associated with it. It's much easier to program this way.

For the first product in an order, the "continued" field is blank or
F. Then, the second product in the order is on the second record. Its
information is in product01 and quantity01, price01, etc. But
Continued is set to Y. If Continued="Y" then this means that the line
is a continuation of the same order as the line before it.

You therefore have as many lines as you have products, and there is a
one-to-one correspondence between line items in the order and lines
in the import file. Once the following order starts, the Continued
field is again blank or F on the first line, then Y for the
subsequent items in the order.
