I have a pressing need to accept and process orders in EDI format into MOM. Has anyone worked with this and found an acceptable method of doing this? I've contacted MOM directly and they verified that they do not have a set method of doing this, but that some type of translation program would be needed to convert the EDI file to a CSV file for the MOM I/O module to handle.

Any suggestions, ideas, thoughts?

Jerry

Hi Jerry,

I have hired 1 EDI SOURCE to convert my EDI orders into a .CSV file. I can put you in touch with technician that is doing the conversion if you like.

I will post information on the conversion once we have this ready to go.

Best,

DISCLAIMER: Always backup your MOMWIN folder before attempting to perform any updates, testing, etc. Once you blast the data away it's gone forever.
My advice is based on my 8 years of experience with MOM and Dydacomp. If you are not comfortable with data manipulation then hire someone who is.

Just wondering how long the process has taken and when you expect a completion date.

Hi Jerry,

We signed up with 1 EDI SOURCE last week. The cost for 1 inbound 850 document for a single trading partner is $350.00 USD. This does not include the one time $2500.00 setup fee.

I anticipate that the conversion should take no more than a week to complete (including testing).

My contact at 1 EDI SOURCE is:

Jennifer Litz
1 EDI Source, Inc.
145 S. River Street
Kent, OH 44240
877-334-1334, ext. 132
Cell: 330-554-9013
877-EDI-1EDI

Please reference Dave from CVS INC when you call. I can use the brownie points.

Best,

Dave

My import process from EDI to MOM has been very slow... but only because my client has not been able to provide the proper spec to our developer.

I need help from anyone in this forum that has created an import from a flat file. The question from my developer is this:

"I've been working heavily on your import file for your orders, I just want to make sure I"m understanding this correctly, each file is only able to handle 5 detail lines, and your system can handle multiple header records that are the same?

I've been trying to accomplish this with our translator, but can't seem to get that operational, so our programmer can add a special process the breaks the files up before they are sent down to you.

I just want to make sure that your system can handle multiple header records before he writes his process, as to avoid massive changes later (which could fall into custom programming fees).

Please let me know when you can."

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Blank out the header for continuations of orders with 5+ detail lies. Add X in continue feild.

The easiest thing to do is export orders from MOM and look at the results. They come out the same way they go in.
